Educational ProgramsServing Those Who Served: Programs That Care for Aging Veterans |
|||||
We owe a tremendous debt to the men and women that have served our
country through military service - especially in times of war. There are
some excellent (but not well publicized) programs that help repay this
debt with care for aging veterans and their spouses or widows. These
programs are designed to maximize each Veteran’s functional independence
and lessen the burden of disability on Veterans, their families, and
caregivers. Veteran's assistance programs help pay for the care of
elderly and senior veterans. What health care professionals, senior care
facilities, and care managers need to know about monetary and health
benefits for veterans, how you can help a veteran pay for medicine, and
assisted living, in-home care or skilled nursing. Learn how to
determine if a senior you know is eligible for benefits, complete a care
expense statement with full explanations so that the facility fees can
be deducted as a medical expense, review a sample physicians statement
with critical explanations, pension pay rates with current table,
handouts with frequently asked questions, fast letters related to
housebound benefits, and when to use optional forms. Veterans age 65
and older who served in WWII, Korea, or Vietnam can be eligible for up
to $2,120 month tax free. Surviving spouses up to $1,149 month. To
learn more about these veterans benefits, register today.
